Jose A. Companioni

I’ve gone by many titles: director, journalist, script writer, videographer, technical director, producer, but I identify mostly as a story teller. Whether I’m in the fast paced world of news or the long process of film making I excel either way.

I started young, editing when I was only 11 years old. I specialized in journalism for many years before I got to the University of Central Florida, there I experimented with all types of story telling. The truth is people constantly warned me about becoming a jack of all trades in a field of specialists. But in the fast paced digital world we inhabit nowadays I found that attempting to excel in every aspect has proved to be more fruitful and exhilarating.

I find myself selfishly wanting to master anything and everything. I don’t believe that someone who can do anything can’t master everything, to me that is just an excuse. I just want to tell visual stories that impact people. Whether scripted or live everyday I wake up excited to tell another story.
